Do you indulge in alcoholic beverages more than once per week?

You could say "more than once a year" and my answer would still be no. Just another one of those things!

Yes.
Usually a bottle of wine on a Friday and Sunday night with my girlfriend, and about 5-10 pints of beer most Saturday nights when I'm out.
I don't tend to drink during the week unless I'm going out - although I occassionally treat myself to half a bottle of wine.
When I seperated from my ex-wife, I pretty much gave up alcohol for 3 or 4 months. It wasn't planned or anything, I just knew that I was feeling too miserable to also take a depressant like alcohol.
Cheers,
Liam

Not usually. Every few weeks, we get beer and reveal and I split the six pack over the course of a week or so. I can count on one hand the number of times I've been shitfaced, so I don't get drunk very often.

OK, I'm curious. Why don't you drink? Is it a religious, temprance or other moral thing, you haven't found an alcoholic drink you enjoy yet (I don't like most spirits, including whisky), you don't like losing control/inhibitions, or something else?
Not judging, I'm genuinely curious.
Cheers,
Liam

Nope. Each of my parents grew up in an alcoholic household, so I grew up in a house devoid of alcohol. (I'm also Irish and Native American, among several other ancestries, so I'm a wee bit nervous about the firewater.) Drinking alone terrifies me, so I don't ever do that, and the idea of sitting down to dinner with a beer seems completely foreign to me. SWMBO has gotten me to the point where I can have some wine with dinner at home on occasion, but I still usually feel uncomfortable doing so unless we're entertaining company. If I'm having dinner at someone elses home or at a restaurant, though, it doesn't feel odd to me.
Drinking for me is a social thing - I'm fine going out to the bar and having a couple of beers, but I'm cheap, so it doesn't happen that often - I'd say once a month or so is a bit more accurate. I have a low tolerance, so it makes for a cheap night for me!

I'll probably have a drink once or twice a month, so no. I tend to buy something good and make it last a while. I'm not one or being drunk, so a beer to help me kick back every now and then is fine.

But they all taste so different
I don't like some alcoholic drinks, but I love others. Some I couldn't even tell that they had alocohol in (mostly cocktails and punches).
Cheers,
Liam

I enjoy a drink, but don't do it often. The husband and I don't ever go out to bars/pubs and, moreover, it's expensive.
I would love to make enough money to have a glass of wine every night, though...

I don't drink anything alcoholic, and never have. It's not a religious or moral thing, I've just never had the slightest inclination to try it. (Ditto cigarettes, recreational drugs, etc.) I don't know why this is, and don't spend any time thinking about it one way or the other. 99.9999% of the time it's a total non-issue, but over the years I have had a couple of conversations with people that ran more or less like this:
So you don't drink?
No.
But you have wine and stuff with dinner, right?
No.
Wow, so just beer, then?
No.
You are saying your have never, in your entire life, had even one beer?
That's correct.
Bullshit!
As you may imagine, I don't spend a lot of time in bars, but sometimes I'm out with drinking friends and I'll get a Coke or something. One obnoxious bartender, apparently deciding that his job was to sell alcohol, was reluctant to sell Coke by itself, and asked me twice what I wanted in it (rum, whatever); the first time I said "nothing" and the second time I said "ice."

We have more alcohol in our home that some small bars. Usually we keep over 50 bottles of wine on hand, all the different liquors our friends/family drink and my beermister always had a full keg in it. (It is broke now but that is a different story). Why do we have so much you ask; my wife likes being a good hostess. So when friends come over and they want something to drink, we have it.

We have a friend like this as well, so you are not alone (he is 38 now), we keep a 12 pack of Mountain Dew on hand for when he comes over.

I've tried lots of different kinds at my family's urging over the years. They all taste pretty much the same to me: alcohol, with a thin facade of other flavor on top of it. There may be an alcoholic beverage out there that I would like... but it's not worth it when water or OJ or soda is right here.

Not usually no, but the current limitation is monetary. Ideally, I'd have one or two (or more) varieties of flavorful beer in the house (I'm an unapologetic beer snob, I'm afraid) plus some alca-pop for the girlfriend and maybe some Jack Daniel's for when the mood strikes.
I grew up in a house where the consumption of good beer (and over the last five years or so scotch) was a part of the culture and a near daily occurrance, usually prior to dinner as my parents would discuss their day and later my sister and I joined in (around 17 after my exchange to Germany), which we still keep up whenever we're all in town.

I don't drink alcoholic beverages. About the only time I get any alcohol is when I have a cold and take Nyquil, or when I go to Olive Garden for dinner and they offer a free sample of wine.
