This is the official thread for the Circvs Cashimvs fantasy football league. We are now starting our 3rd season!

League Size: Up to 12 teams. (Even number required for head-to-head.)

League Type: Head to Head, no Keepers

Mid-week drafts are best for me, especially in August. And the week of GenCon is a bust.

I have to think about it. Money's getting tight, but I think I could squeeze $25 out of some rocks around here.

ESPN is fine with me again. Monday and Thursday nights are bad for me, and other nights may end up being depending on job stuff.

I'd be up for trying it. Never done it with football but have with baseball. We do it face-to-face and it still takes all day. The rosters are smaller with football though. Not sure what it would be like with everyone in different locations.

I'm not opposed as much as I enjoy the current drafting, but I might be willing to try.

My only real objection is that since most of us have never done it before, doing this in a money league seems a bit... off.

Except that money-league people are more hardcore. Auction drafts are also more hardcore. The people in casual leagues are less likely to want to spend a little longer and work a little harder. Auction drafts are a lot more fun, though. Like I told JC, try a mock auction draft on ESPN.com and see if you like it. Careful though, they are addictive!

6 teams so far, updated the first post to reflect this.

It would be great to get at least 4 more teams. Or 3 for that matter as Seonaid will play if we need to even up the teams.

Now is a good time to finalize things like Draft date/time, roster/bench spots and scoring. Oh yeah, and what kind of draft we are going with.

Last years rosters looked like this, with 10 teams:

5 Bench slots & one for IR.

I reactivated last years' league and grabbed a non-auction draft slot on 9/5 @ 5pm. It's the Saturday before the season starts and it also happens to be Labor Day weekend. As usual, I'm open to changing the date/time but that's the current best time for me. Damn season starts late and that doesn't play well with my work schedule.

I should also mention that since I won't be at GenCon this year people who normally give me the league fee in Indy will have to use Paypal or some other means.

I suggested an Auction Draft, but we should only consider it if we know to an absolute certainty that everyone will show up for the draft, otherwise anyone on "auto-draft" runs up the price on every single player until everyone rallies together to load them up with crappy players.

Last year it seemed the bench got incredibly small if you had two guys injured. I'd suggest a sixth bench slot.

Nah, smaller bench means more waiver wire activity, which I think makes a league interesting, and open for anyone to get back into the game.

Like the baseball league this year it's bound to be freaky. I don't think anybody is used to playing with all-star teams regularly so I'm willing to go with it solely on the basis that we're all in the same boat to start off. Not sure yet how it would affect drafting strategies, but it'll surely be interesting.

Okay, cool.

It would be great to get at least one more player as Seonaid will then play to give us 8 teams. That would certainly be preferable. So, should I try ENW at this point? We didn't exactly get more than another player last time I did that.

Let's do just like with the baseball league: hold the draft when everyone ELSE insists it has to be, then I'm the only one who actually shows up and I clean up!
