Forked Thread: Buying Rep - Buying Senate Seat

Forked from: Buying Rep (read this if you want denarii)

I have not decided to actually offer denarii for rep. This is more right now of an exercise in placing value on one fictional board-related perk against another fictional board-related perk.

Thank you for your participation.
In ancient Rome, it was traditional for the middle class to buy their way into a senate seat, by giving bribes (sometimes in an official and up-front way) to the appropriately influential folks. At least one emperor changed hands in this way as well by buying imperial guard support.

I felt, since this is Circus Maximus, and since I had already raised the issue previously in theory, that I would try and emulate this ancient practice here.

So, now that I am close enough for it to make a difference in rank, having saved up my rep for a month to make a bid for the senate, I am now going to send denarii based on how people voted in the previous poll in exchange for posirep, as follows:

1 denarii to: kiznit
100 denarii to: Viking Bastard
1000 denarii to: Belen, der_kluge, El Ravager, Joshuas Randallus, Morrolan, Old Fart, Pielorinho, Storminator
5000 denarii to: kahuna burger, Master Shake, Pompous Magnus
10000 denarii to: Bront, El Fvcktardo, Nareau, Zappo
100000 denarii to FickleGM

Now I know some of you feel it is unfair that FickleGM gets 100K while Kiznit gets 1, and their posirep is valued as the same. Well, you know, you buy your votes where you can. Who is to say that FickleGM doesn't have more influence with the senate than Kiznit in some secret way? Maybe his greed is good, because it makes him more reliable in the future as a senate supporter? All I can do is offer a bribe based on what people previously thought was fair, and hope it works out.

So, let's see how many of you meant it, and how many of you did not. Let the blatant bribery begin!
