See, if everyone would just smarten the fuck up and agree with me in the first place all the time, we'd save time and heartache for everyone.

I personally feel that spraying cheez-whiz on your wang and having raccoons lick it off is not a good idea, despite your stance on it.

And yet you willingly read Erikson.

Which is almost the same, just minus the cheese whiz.

There's plenty of Whiz in Erikson, but it's not Cheez.

How do two guys who haven't read Erikson compare him to raccoon blowjobs? I reckon you had a bad experience and you're hoping something "sticks."

No spoiler tag? ==> Spoil it for others and die.

Spoiler tag? ==> Bitch about any form of spoiler at all and die.
This has always been my thoughts on the subject. No Spoiler discussion means any possible spoilers go under tag or sblock, while a spoiler tag means nothing has to.

Contrary to what passes for a thought process in someone who likes Erikson, reading his first book does count as having read Erikson.

It also counts as torture under the Geneva Convention and is outlawed in all civilized states.

I never managed to get past the first quarter. I'd probably break under waterboarding too.

So, what about shows that have aired in one country but not another? e.g. Dr Who, BSG (which was shown in the UK ahead of the US for some series, and the other way around for others).

Is discussing the latest episode of a show that has aired in the UK, but not the US (or vice versa) classed as a spoiler, or not?

I'm thinking mainly about the US, UK, and Canada, but there are obviously a number of other English, and non-English speaking countries represented here.
Robin Williams: "In England, if you commit a crime, the police don't have a gun and you don't have a gun. If you commit a crime, the police will say, 'Stop, or I'll say stop again.'"

PWD: "you're the seed, the relationship is the soil, and the love and attention and work you put into the relationship is the sun and the rain that feeds it. What grows from that is what you always were meant to become."

I think tossing a [UK], [USA], or [Other Country Acronym] would suffice to warn off others that the episodes aren't on the same schedule as other countries, it's not a "spoiler" tag, it's and "advance episode discussion" tag.

Once it's aired somewhere, I think it's fair game. Within 24 hours, it will be everywhere, penty of folks can torrent or stream it, and often there's less than a week delay between broadcasts. Besides, with DVRs, plenty of folks don't watch the shows on broadcast day anyway.

That said, the spoilers thing is probably a best used with some intelligence. Again, don't be a dick.

If a thread says spoilers and you go in it, expect to be spoiled regardless of form. If it isn't tagged, you shouldn't expect spoilers of any form.

Threads don't belong to their creator, they belong to the people who post in them. Different people are gonna see the shades of gray of spoilerdom differently and threads are gonna meander.

Okay, I'm glad to see that I was not in crack. That's what I thought spoilers meant, too, but then got negrepped for talking about a spoiler. So, I figured I had been on crack all of this time, and it was just my misconception.

Hm. Well, we got that cleared up.

To clear things up further on my end:

    Conversation = good.
Two threads on one show = bad.
Spoilers = Not clearly defined, hence the thread.

I don't think two threads on one show is bad. GoT is a good example... then people who want to talk about the show and the books don't have to sblock every single thing they write and people who want to chat about the show and guess what's to come don't have to worry about getting the show ruined for them.

Now where's the fun in that?

You know what they say about common sense, right?
