Lost in Space ends up being mediocre. Too much 'stupid things done for no good reason', so those of you with turn-offable brains ought to love it.

    Patriot is simply fucking incredible.

And I've finally gotten around to Broadchurch, and I'm kicking myself for having waited on it.
    I wouldn't even censor you.

Where as I watched it when it came out and was kicking myself for waiting round for them to get to the actual plot.

I'm fine with extreme slow burners. I just wish they were more, ehhh, obvious with their time skips.

Not sure what you mean by "actual plot"*, but I just finished series 2 and I just have to say, it's a good thing I like slow burners.

Though to be fair, the show is compelling despite them taking 2 seasons to get around to to it. And I have no idea why they made a series 3, everything's wrapped at the end of 2 (but I expect I'll figure that out in the next week).

    * As in, they spend all of two seasons dealing with the two 'major' plot arcs and all the character arcs. So it's not like there is no plot. Unless there is something else going on and series 3 delves into everything they missed in 1 and 2? Bah! I'll find out in the next 7 days (I'll be watching it).
    I wouldn't even censor you.

I'm running out of TV to watch. I've resorted to the trainwreck that is the BBC adaptation of the Illiad. Troy: Fall of A City. Great googly moogly. Now I know I'm desperate. I've seen daytime soap operas with greater sophistication.

Maybe I'll check out Patriot. I don't want to even attempt Lost in Space. How to top that kitschy 70's series with Robbie the Robot flailing around with his springy little arms shrieking in his mechanical voice, 'Danger! Danger! Alien Approaching!' I suspect this is the show that shaped the young Donald Trump's approach to foreign policy and immigration.

Patriot is good. But it's a dark, grim, comedy.

I don't want to even attempt Lost in Space.
Wise choice. I almost wish I'd done this as well. (But I halfway enjoyed the new Lost in Space. Halfway. Like it's got some good lurking behind all the utter stupid.)

This one is mostly for Para... mostly.

So this popped into my email box just as the next thing after it was playing on my playlist...

It's my second favorite Jonathan Coulton song.

The next two are the previous song, but in ASL and French. I really like the French version for some reason.

Code Monkeys is his best song. And the show it was connected to was awesome. I still miss it. Rumor of a season 3 last year...still hoping, all these years later...

    That is provably false.

"Still Alive" is his best song. Code Monkey is about a fat loser who can't score and has no idea how to interact with women... which is why so many nerds liked it.

JoCo is so good, hard to pick his best.

Though one that always stands out to me is "Nobody Love You Like Me". Loved the harmony and it's actually a terribly sad song and contrary to his usually light-hearted stuff. "Better" was one that gave me a chuckle when I first heard it.

    wake wake from the grave
rise to set the world aflame

    night night endless night
    terror is the only light
    bane bane rage untamed
    darkness dwells in age-old blame

I liked it because of the show. Which was brilliant.

Saw "Jurassic World and am firmly of the opinion that it does not disappoint in the true fashion of a Jurassic Park movie; i.e., horrible plot, crappy dialogue, but nobody goes to a JP movie for that sort of thing, they go to see the awesome goddamn dinosaurs wrecking shit and killing people.

Totally worth 9 bucks and I'm actually looking forward to the inevitable next one, though they've done the "dinosaurs come to America" in one of the previous JP movies. Can't remember if it was the second or third one.

As I walked out of the theatre, I thought "Oooh, I'd kinda like to see a 'Reign of Fire' mashup with this idea; post-apocalypic North America, because, dinosaurs."
