I was thinking of setting it up as a series of dungeons/worlds that need to be traversed before getting to the main event. The Unseelie are associated with winter, so I'm thinking of making the PC's work their way through the seasons to get to Winter: Spring, Summer, Fall, and finally Winter. Kind of like Dante's Inferno, each one must be passed through to get to the next. That's about all I've thought of so far. Now I need to think of what kinds of challenges are tie into each of the seasons: Monsters, hazards, traps, etc. Of course the Wild Hunt will need to make an appearance.
    That sounds super cool.

Rusalka, nixies nucklavee and kelpies in the watery areas, redcaps shadowing them in the forest, beansidhe creeping them out. I posted a link to this really well-done sort of mini-graphic-novel about a kelpie before, but if you hadn't seen it you might want to check it out. Maybe a little creativity fuel.

Oh, and don't forget the elf-shot! Sudden, painful and mysterious death neatly at hand.
"I'll tell you something," he said, as if he had said nothing that day. "You're walking on gallows ground, and there's a rope around your neck and a raven-bird on each shoulder waiting for your eyes, and the gallows tree has deep roots, for it stretches from heaven to hell, and our world is only the branch from which the rope is swinging."

Because I value you all so highly and don't want to disrespect you all by bringing this conversation to this thread and spamming links to it and about it here.

Is anyone else finding that ENW is refusing HTTPS connections?

It has never accepted them. Morrus had a tweet about making enworld SSL capable a few days ago, but I tried immediately after and it still only responds to http

Is there an official Killjoys RPG in the works or did I just dream it?

I had to clear all cookies and cache before it'd let me see the 5e forum even in Incognito.

Need an idea or two for a magic item....

In my 5e game, I've got a number of magic items that are made of a special sort of obsidian; these tend to have unpredictable (ie: chaotic rather than evil) properties. The PC's have just found a crystal ball-sized orb of this stuff, that is currently being used to hold the spirit of a cleric. I anticipate the cleric's spirit will vacate the orb in the next couple of sessions, and I want the left-over orb to have some magical power - not necessarily related to the fact that the cleric was imprisoned in it. I don't want to give them a quote-unquote crystal ball (unless its got a significantly lessened power - the PC's are 4th level). Any ideas?

Since it's unpredictable, have it be a crystal ball that gives false information 1/3 of the time.

I thought of having it be a magic eight ball, that actually gives the most relevant answer. Still might do that. Though it's too late for me to describe it as "a ball of obsidian with an inlaid circle of alabaster, in which is set an infinity symbol" and see who long it took them to visualize it.

A crystal ball lets you scry, right? Since it is obsidian rather than crystal you could have it see the past instead of the present. And make how far into the past be random. High chance of recent past (hours or days) but on the extreme end you might see hundreds of years in the past.

I kinda like that. And there are some psionic powers from 3e that I can use as a template for the power (Sensitivity to Psychic Impressions, for one).

Depending of the god and alignment of the cleric, how about a orb of see with dead eyes.
You can put the Orb into the eye-socket of a dead person/skeleton.
Leave it in there for about a minute to gather the magic footprint of the deceased
Afterward you can take the Orb into your hand, concentrate and see the last thing the now dead person saw.
And to go with the choatic nature of the material, sometimes you see the last moment of some random other person.

Every existing thing is born without reason, prolongs itself out of weakness, and dies by chance.

Now you guys are on a roll. This orb is too big to fit in any one's eye sockets, but this type of obsidian is going to be a recurrent theme of my game, with various items made out of it. I an easily see a pair of smaller obsidian eyes that could have that power. Extra ick points for a villain using them and absently rolling them around in his hands like ben wa balls.
