Singer Ruby West has a hard time blending into any crowd and that’s the way she usually likes it. She stands tall at 5’8 and has limbs that are long and graceful. Her hourglass figure is set off by a small waist which curves into rounded hips. She considers her best feature to be her full bust and likes to show it off with tight low cut dresses that hug her curves. Her skin is flawless and fair, yet turns a light tan in the hot Arizona sun. Her face has a touch of the exotic, full lips and almond shaped hazel eyes that change color with her mood, green to gold to gray. Her wavy deep red hair reaches to the small of her back. Wild and hard to keep under control, she normally wears it half pulled up and the rest left loose.

Ruby projects an attitude of worldliness and experience. Yet without the attitude and fancy dresses she looks like a young girl, her face untouched by care or worry. Her demeanor is free spirited and carefree.

    Background:
Constance Grace West was born June 2 of 1863 to William and Alma West of New York City. Being born with a full head of deep red hair immediately put her at a disadvantage, the Harrington Family Curse they called it. The last person in her family who had the same red hair was her grandmother on her mother's side, known to be able to manipulate magic. She was cast out of the family and spent her life traveling the world, occasionally sending Ruby letters. Her parents were highly disappointed with their new baby and never attempted to have any other children. They always kept her at arms length and Ruby spent most of her youth running away from the nanny.

Ruby had no love for school and while her parents constantly pushed her, she did not excel. The only lessons she enjoyed were her singing and dancing lessons, and even those got tedious with constraints and rigid rules. She knew she had other unique talents to fall back on instead and concentrated on manipulating people to get what she wanted, a lesson well learned from her parents. She had few people she trusted and those she did were not the right sort for a daughter of someone with her father’s position to be consorting with.

At the age of 14 Constance was told she was being shipped off to boarding school, to prepare her for marriage to Mr. George Eastman of Rochester. Not wanting to marry or go to finishing school she stole money from her parents and ran away, heading west.

We'll have to figure out who her mentor is/was but it's safe to say that she's probably learned at least a few 1st level spells and as many 0-level as you think reasonable.

Roy nodded at Doc as he said this, hoping he'd remember the mission in Turkey and how he'd thrown up the silver platter just in time to stop the bullet aimed at the Russian ambassador.

"So how do you two know each oth..." Roy trailed off as he glanced at Doc. Something was obviously wrong with him. <Sense Motive = 28> "You ok, Doc? You look a little flushed."
That is a very interesting question -- how do Abigail and the Doc know each other? I imagine I could probably have riffed something off, but I didn't feel comfortable doing that, if there was something in the background PMs we received that was more specifically applicable to how they knew each other.

I have a good idea about that. I'm currently at school but I'll check my notes later after I'm home and drop a PM to the both of you regarding what I'm thinking. If that works you can run with it.

Just curious -- what are the language analogs twixt the game world and our world? I'm thinking I should have spent some skill points picking up additional languages, but I'm not sure about the racial languages versus the human languages, etc.

Crap, I forgot to take languages! I may have to make a couple of adjustments to my character to accomodate them.

    They're mostly the same.

The French are the most accepting of magic so if you want to be able to do wizarding stuff you should learn French.

The elves speak Spanish, etc. Look at where the races are from and that is what their native languages are.

I just want to commend everyone, again, on the really creative and entertaining posts! It should be really interesting having everyone all together

Assume languages to be the same. I've always pictured the racial languages as also existing but them being more ancient languages that are seldom used when interacting in a mixed-race setting.

One reason that the female Native American NPC will be part of this overall team is that her expertise is languages, so she can be called upon when skill on ancient languages is needed. The wizard magic-using nations speak primarily French, Spanish and Portuguese.

Right, thank you. There will be some minor tweaks to Thomas' sheet, then, in re: language and knowledge skills. In the bardic spells I took, I specifically focused upon knowledge/divination spells ... but I actually only went with a bard because of the mondo skill points -- magic was DEFINITELY an afterthought for me.

The "Story Hour" for this campaign has now been started over on ENWorld. Players should feel free to respond to any questions from the Story Hour readers. The initial chapter post gives the world background, playing character listing, and initial post from the Gaming Thread. The next three chapters will be the conversations on each of the three trains.

For those of us who don't have Sidewinder, can we get some luvin' on firearm stats? I am going with a brace of Colt 1877 Lightening .32 Caliber DA revolvers for his primary guns, plus a hand valise with assorted other hardware, reload kits and weapon customization tools.

Are these pistols considered "light" for two-weapon fighting purposes? I want to get my attack bonus and such figured out.

    Thanks!

Ah yes, the 1877 Colt Lightning, the double-action counterpart to the Colt Peacemaker. A very reliable gun that continued to be manufactured until 1909. Here are the stats:
6 cylinder magazine, considered to be size Small, 2 pounds in weight (as opposed to the Peacemaker's 3 pounds), standard purchase price of $ 25.00, damage 2d4, short range of 20 feet. The only real negative to this weapon is that the book says it requires a full two rounds to reload.

    2d4???

What kind of self-respecting gun fighter runs around with one of these?

I kid, of course, I figured the .32 would be pretty wimpy, but I am trying to turn over a new leaf ! 2 round reload, eh? I was figuring on taking rapid reload as my next feat anyway, so that works. Are there any other feats out of SW that are worth looking at?

Since this is a DA, are there double-tap or similar things that can be used? Also, I am thinking about using the Craft:Firearms skill to create a something to speed up loading (ala a speed loader from the 48 hours movie)...thoughts?
