I might be Gandhi. Obviously, that test is flawed.

I'm not sure if this is good or bad, but here it is nonetheless:

    CleverNickName's political compass
    Economic Left/Right: -5.12
    Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.15

...and to think, I was a registered Republican until 2006...

Morrus and I seem to be the two closest to the center. Hm. Interesting.

I'm not going to take the test again to get the image, but I am practically right on top of your dot.

Sam: But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going. Because they were holding on to something.

Frodo: What are we holding on to Sam?

Sam: That there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo... and it's worth fighting for.

    Here is mine...

The wording of the questions was interesting...I think I detected a bit of bias in there somewhere .

    You think?

    Here's mine:

I think my belief in the social contract skews me authoritarian. But really, the questions were so ultra-left skewed it's not even funny.

    You and I are identical.

Given that Belen and Old One seem to be on the same dot, I don't think that's beyond the scope of possibility.

I was pretty close to Rodrigo; just a few clicks to the left and the same amount of clicks up, more or less. I think we're the only two anywhere on the blue square to post so far.

    Let's see if this works:

Anyway, I don't know about bias, but the questions are rather vaguely worded. I've found taking the test at different times that I sometimes get very different results, even though my opinions haven't really changed. It all depends on how I interpret the question at the time that I'm reading it. Also, it asks what you agree with socially, but that doesn't mean that it's accurately predicting what you think the government's role should be in regards to that question. I can believe something to be a good idea, for instance, without believing that we should legislate that people have to do what I think is a good idea for them to do.

It's a fine conversation piece, but I don't trust its results very far. It always pegs me as more authoritarian than I actually am because of the way the questions are worded, for example.

I concur. I'm rather more libertarian than authoritarian in practice, I think.
