    Dire Wolf's Pathfinder Campaign: PC's, Setting and Rules

    OK, I have started a separate thread here where we can start figuring out stuff. Here is where you can post your characters, I will post some info about the setting (please take the time to read the 20 pages in the player's guide though) and we can establish house rules and whatnot. We will begin actual play next week at the latest.

    Here is a recap of the info from the PM I sent already:

    Use races/classes from the Pathfinder Players Guide which can be found here. Note that there are also feats and equipment in this document that are available for your PCs.

    28 points for point buy.

    Average starting funds for equipment. (see 3.5 PHB pg. 111)

    Hit points are max at first level, and half of hit die +1 every level thereafter.

    5 action points to start. Action points can be used to add 1d6 to any skill check, attack roll, or saving throw as long as you do it before you know the result. They can also be used to auto stabilize. Additional action points will be awarded each level and can also be earned for doing really cool stuff and exceptional role playing.

    We will be using www.invisiblecastle.com for our dice rolls. This is subject to change should we ever get our own dice roller on these boards or if someone can find a different, better site.

    Linw (pronounced lin-WE) fled Celwynvian after it "fell under the deepest of shadows" and made her way into the world devoid of any real home. Absent familial or military responsibilities, Linw now considers herself a mercenary, though she has never actually served as a warrior for hire, she'll present herself as such unless another opportunity presents itself. From the Forest of the Emerald Rains, Linw found herself in RiddlePort, which she didn't much care for. From there, she hailed the next ship out, which just happened to dock in Sandpoint. As suitable a place as any, Linw finds herself adjusting to the customs of humans and other "mortal" beings in this land.

    Linw grew up accustomed to the teachings of Cayden Cailean, though she does not consider herself a spiritual individual. Absent a regimented life, she finds herself drawn to other things, and is open to the ideas of the other inhabitants she finds herself surrounded by. Though educated, Linw has always only been exposed to the teachings and ideas of her people. Now that she has suddenly been barraged by new ideas, some of which she finds both ridiculous and alien, she is nevertheless perplexed by the myriad and variety these ideas present. For this reason, she has decided to attend the religious ceremonies at the newly built church in Sandpoint.

    Linw is not fitting of the elven stereotypes - something she has already become increasingly accustomed to when dealing with humans. While she is agile, and swift on her feet as many elves are, Linw takes a more practical approach to combat - preferring the weight of her greatsword to cleave her opponents in twain. "If I can kill my opponent in one hit, isn't that a superior tactic?" is her usual reply. Linw is also fond of Elven wine - a delicacy growing increasingly rarer the further away from home she has become. Her last bottle is half empty, and she dreads the day when she finds herself tossing it aside.

    Question: I just want to confirm, this is an adult game right? Swearing and the like is allowed? Can you just clarify what you expect in terms of rating?

    Yes, this is an adult game. I expect swearing and the like if that is how your character would act. I don't expect swearing for the sake of swearing, but in character it's fine.

    Also, the level of gore in this game is a little higher than what I am used to, for example the goblin slitting the dog's throat right off the bat. There are some more graphic scenes of the like in here, just to warn everybody.

    One last comment, I am liking what I am reading so far. People seem to be staying in character. Excellent!

    Just an FYI, Karthus is going to swear. A lot. And be rude and cruel at times. He's a barbarian. Deal with it. Because he can Kick. Your. Ass.

    If we are afraid of a little gore, then we are playing the wrong game. Isn't this all about killing stuff and stealing treasure?

    Oh, it totally is about killing stuff and violence and whatnot, I have just noticed that there seems to be more graphic stuff in this game than I typically see. I just figured I would mention it. Personally, I think it's kewl!
