    I am a leaf on the wind, I'll go with whatever is decided as long as I don't need to spend any money

    For what it's worth, I like 4E, but only on tabletop and online. I don't think it translates well to PBP type games.

    I am interested in Pathfinder RPG, and I think my other group of friends is going to play that as well, so I will at least have access to the books when they are published. I could probably play from the beta books as well.

    Honestly, I'm fine with the current set of rules we're using and I'm not that interested in switching to either Pathfinder or 4e. Having said that, I'm like Festivus in that I'll happily go along with whatever the group decides.

    Backstory:

    Seramela hated ship building. It was rough work and the calloses on his hands were something he would never get used to. At a young age, he found that he was better at building his friends morale than actual manual labor. So his days would be spent singing and rallying the shipbuilders into performing better and faster. His talents were noticed by several prominent people in Gwaelod who would pay him to sing for their men. But after a while, this too became dull and he wanted more. He heard about a Fair in the town of Norgood where his talents could be shown to a wider audience. Without a moments hesitation, he made his way to Norgood, hoping to become a star.

    Sniffles, I noticed you raised Thoria's charisma from 8 to 9. I couldn't help but think that you'd be better off raising either strength or con since those would be up to an even number, and not worry about charisma. You could raise charisma again at 8th to 10, but that's not going to get you very much for the trouble. A con increase and a strength increase would be much more advantageous.

    Appearance: Omik is a large young man, with braod shoulders from years of swinging an axe. He only has a few winters growth of beard, which combinded with his durable, but rather plain clothing pegs him as forestman from the north.

    Background: Omik Turunak is a Blacksheep man. Born out in the forest, Omik was gathering twigs as soon as he could walk. His first axe came when he was four. He knew the woods well and accompanied his father once he was old enough to get out of the way of the falling trees. As much fun as Omik had running through the forests, it was a hard life. The lumbermen worked as soon as the sun came up until it came down. You learned to be quick and strong or you didn’t last long. The boys were put to work as soon as they could climb too. Omik’s father was Petr Turunak, the de facto leader of the lumbermen, a legend in the community for his size, strength and skill with an axe. His mother, Luenika was well known for her herbal remedies and wisdom. A pity Omik did not take after his mother a bit more some would come to say.

    Though life was hard, the small community in Blacksheep had a great deal of pride, and held logging competitions to test the young men’s skills. The winners got to head down to Norgood for the tournaments. Life was good for young Omik, he was growing well and was strong. He could fell an ash the thickness of his hand in one swing. Many saw Omik stepping up to take his fathers place one day. But Omik had a temper on him. As skilled as he was, Omik seemed to have knack for saying the wrong things, usually unintentionally, but it caused him some grief now and again, and he usually focused it on a tree somewhere.

    One day though, Bitek, a rival for a girl Omik had a crush on (Georia), happened upon Omik as he was venting his anguish. He had earlier told Georia she was very plentiful. He had meant her garden. Bitek came upon Omik and taunted him about the comment. Omik was in one of his foul moods and angry already, Bitek’s barbs pushed him over the edge, a red haze covered his vision and when it passed, Bitek lay there, his head gone.

    Petr was furious, he convinced the other forestfolk that Bitek had provoked Omik and they accepted that reluctantly. Expect for Bitek’s family, his brother Aerik swore to get revenge. With the other loggers skeptical, and relying upon Petr’s standing, and Aerik out to get him, Petr thought it best if Omik left.

    Omik left reluctantly, it seemed as if was being banished. But he left out of respect for his father, mother and his sister Olika. Omik didn’t know what he was going to do. He lived on the other side of the forest for a while. But eventually he had an idea. The elders often spoke of men who traveled around fighting and finding treasure. Men who seemed to have no home, but went where things where exciting. Omik thought that with no home of his own, that kind of a life might be exciting. That and if he could gain enough money, perhaps he could pay Bitek’s family. That and he might have enough for a small cottage for he and Georia, if she was still unmarried. With that resolved, Omik had an idea of what to do and where to go. He set off for Norgood, uncertain of what to do once there. But he had his axe so he could always cut wood for a blacksmith if he needed to.
