My friend Justin died
I've known him since I was six. He's the brother of my oldest girlfriend. He and I dated, and lived together, for over a year, ten years ago. Since then, he moved across the country, but I'd often see him over the holidays.
I've never had anybody close to me die before. This just hurts too much. It's too much.A mature person is one who does not think only in absolutes, who is able to be objective even when deeply stirred emotionally, who has learned that there is both good and bad in all people and in all things, and who walks humbly and deals charitably with the circumstances of life, knowing that in this world no one is all knowing and therefore all of us need both love and charity.

They think it was a drug overdose. He died in his sleep.

Yes it does hurt, you just have to remember the good and let the sorrow just run its course and not consume you. Grieving is something that must happen, it is just the way we mortals are. But take it and try to use it in a positive light even for just being able to smile.

I'm so sorry Wyn.
Joe the lawyer died suddenly, at the age of 45. He got to the gates of Heaven, and the angel standing there said, "We've been waiting a long time for you."
"What do you mean?" he replied. "I'm only 45, in the prime of my life. Why did I have to die now?"
"45? You're not 45, you're 82," replied the angel.
"Wait a minute. If you think I'm 82, then you have the wrong guy. I'm only 45. I can show you my birth certificate."
"Hold on. Let me go check," said the angel, and disappeared inside. After a few minutes the angel returned. "Sorry, but by our records you are 82. I checked all the hours you have billed your clients, and you have to be 82..."

I'm sorry. It's hard when anyone close to you dies, but even worse, I've found, if it's before their time.
Perhaps it will give you some comfort to know that while you remember him, he will not truly die.

I know how much it hurts. I lost my grandmother this year. You just have to remember all the good and the love. The pain is bad, i know, but you will get through it. Don't be afraid to rely on your friends and loved ones. Hang in there, and don't be afraid to grieve in whatever way works for you.
You have my deepest condolences.

Oh God, I'm terribly sorry to hear this Wyn.
Please take care.

Wyn I'm so sorry for your loss. I've lost a few friends and it's never easy. But a good point was made that you will have the memories of him and he will live on through you.
