    reveal's Daily Trivia 5.17.19

    1) What US state has an image of a beaver on the back of its flag? Answered

Oregon, aka the Beaver State. The nickname dates back to the early 19th century.

    2) What American film tradition began on May 16, 1929? Answered

The Academy Awards. The first awards were handed out on May 16, 1929, in the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood. Only silent movies were considered (disqualifying new talkies like The Jazz Singer), and the first Best Picture winner was Wings.

    3) In science, what does triple point refer to? Answered

A combination of the right temperature and the right pressure that allows a substance (like water) to exist as a solid, a liquid, and a gas all at once. This is also called thermodynamic equilibrium.

    4) Where is the world's largest bowling alley?

    5) What science fiction novelist created the imaginary world of Hain? Answered

Ursula K. Le Guin. Hain is one of several planets that populate the fictional universe of Le Guin’s Hainish Cycle books, a series that includes The Left Hand of Darkness and The Dispossessed.

I have to thank familiarity with sports for that guess. It's the only State I know of with Beavers as team names, and I don't know a whole heck of a lot about State flags outside of the one I live in.

    4. This is a wild guess. Is there one in the Mall of America in Minnesota? Maybe that's the largest.
