Why Thor is the best character in the MCU...

THOR'S PAIN IN ENDGAME MAKES HIM THE MOST HUMAN, RELATABLE AVENGER

Even in the face of tremendous loss after the events of Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Infinity War, Thor still had a purpose, something he could hold onto and use as a driving force: Kill Thanos at all costs. The opening minutes of Endgame render that purpose meaningless, even when he fulfills it — the execution is an angry act with no payoff. That purpose was Thor's crutch in the face of tremendous pain, and when it was gone, he retreated into silence. When Banner and Rocket go to find him, Valkyrie says the other Asgardians only see him once a month, and when they actually get to Thor's house, it's a mess. In the center of that mess is a fallen god without a sense of purpose to lean on, who'd rather not talk about his problems.

Thor becomes an incel. Incels identify with him.

As both a Star Wars fans (the original three, the older cartoons, and Rogue One thank you) and a Trek fan (but not a groddy Trekkie), I still think they are bigger fan motivators. I mean is there a Marvel convention at all? Where is the Marvel version of the 501st? Of *shudder* Trekkies? Or is it that Marvel is so widely spread that cosplaying fans and 'truescum fans' don't need to group up into selective cliques for socializing and protection?
    Comicon?

Maybe? It predates the current movies, but has it warped to favor the movies over the comics?

Both DC and Marvel movies have a huge presence at the San Diego Comicon. But generally it's a con for pop culture generally, not exclusive to comics or comicbook movies. I think even the Star Wars films are big there.

Does that get better? I watched.. some of the first season, but thought it was bad. The Orville, on the other hand, I've thoroughly enjoyed. The second season has been great.

Mustrum tries to get the thread back on topic, so now we're discussing Star Trek!

Well, the second season is different, whether you like it more I don't know. Anson Mount is pretty awesome in his role as a principled (more traditional than Lorca) Starfleet Captain. You could skip the rest of first season, there is very little you absolutely need to know.
I keep the spoilers as vague as I can, so even if you'd watch the rest of the season, you might still be somewhat surprised about certain developments, or at least how events unfold. SPOILERS TO FOLLOW:
    Spoiler:

Lorca is gone, they need a new Captain. Burnham is reinstated as Commander due to her actions in service of the Federation.
Captain Georgiou (Michelle Yeoh) in season 2 is actually not the real Georgiou. She is the Mirror Universe Georgiou. She used to be the Empress of the Terran Empire, but a rebellion cost her that position and Burnham rescued her. Only very few people know about her true origin, most are led to believe that she's the Prime Georgiou that was somehow found/freed from captivity.
The Spore Drive requires a Stamets as biological nav computer. He genetically modified himself, but using the drive has caused issues for him in the past.
Stamets boyfriend Culber was murdered by a Manchurian Candiate aboard the Discovery.

The only topic that really matters.

Captain America is probably a Star Trek fan, Ironman more a Star Wars fan.
Spiderman is so young he probably prefers the JJ Abrams Star Trek, but old enough for the prequels to be his Star Wars.

Bullshit. Spiderman knew the "really old movie" where you use your webbing to trip Giant Man.

Cap slept through most versions of Star Trek, he's probably and Buster Crabbe as Buck Rogers fan.

Although post Endgame he could well enjoy Star Trek, although with all that time and universe hoping to put the stones back, I think he would be more into Doctor Who.
