    guyvf was close! Showbiz and Chuck E. Cheese's used to be two competing companies until CeC bought Showbiz. Bushnell founded....

    Chuck E. Cheese’s. The now-ubiquitous entertainment restaurant chain was born in 1977 with Chuck E. Cheese’s Pizza Time Theatre in San Jose, California.

    I still remember Showbiz Pizza's jingle. "Showbiz Pizza! Where a kid can be a kid!" Years later, I noticed CeC was using the jingle and looked it up to find out they bought Showbiz. I was always a Showbiz kid, so it made me kind of sad.
