    reveal's Daily Trivia 3.23.19

    Weekend edition!

    1) What is the smallest planet in our solar system? Answered

Mercury. Pluto was once considered the smallest planet in our solar system, but after it was demoted to a dwarf planet classification in 2006, the honor passed to Mercury.

    2) Why is a pound cake called a pound cake? Answered

When the recipe was first developed in the early 1700s in Britain, it called for a pound each of butter, sugar, eggs, and flour. The resulting cake was quite large. While the ingredient amounts have been adjusted over the years, the name has stuck.

    3) The hit musical Wicked is based on a 1995 novel by what author?

    4) Billy Eichner, comedian and host of Billy on the Street, once had a role on what beloved NBC sitcom?

    3. I don't know, but Wicked and Hamilton rank up there tied as my favorite musicals.

    Close enough on both!

I read that book years ago when it first came out and found it sort of meh. Maybe that's why I can't remember who wrote it. He hasn't written much else if memory serves. It was a man, though. It was in the 50 cent bin at the Cambridge Public Library. I read it and returned it so someone else could buy it. Not a keeper. It did instill in me a profound sense of dislike for Dorothy, though.

    3) Gregory Maguire. Maguire has written several novels inspired by classic children’s literature and fairy tales, including Wicked (inspired by The Wonderful Wizard of Oz), After Alice (inspired by Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland), and Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister (inspired by the story of Cinderella).

    4) Parks and Recreation. Eichner played Craig Middlebrooks in seasons six and seven.
