    Who invented the swivel chair? Answered

    Thomas Jefferson. The third US president was quite the inventor – his other inventions include the iron plow, a “macaroni machine” (a pasta-making device), and the polygraph.

    Yeah, i read an article a few years ago about the surprising number of things the Founding Fathers invented. Like, they weren't just philosophers and politicians and soldiers... most were businessmen and scientists and engineers.

    If you ever get the chance, I recommend a visit to Monticello, outside Charlottesville, VA. It's filled with remarkable inventions by Jefferson. One of my favorites is a clock powered by cannonballs that shows the days of the week as well as the hour of the day.
