Then they're in line with the past. The elites back then were just as unethical and immoral.

My conundrum is simple. It is a distinct possibility that the Democratic Party could be so STUPID as to nominate Sanders for the presidency.

Faced with such idiocy, I'd be forced into voting for Trump, or any Republican really, as the lesser evil.
You live and vote in Illinois, a state which is an absolute lock for the Democrat no matter what you personally do. So, a third party vote IS an option in your particular case, as you already have no meaningful choices anyway.

Or he could move to a solid red state (Alaska, Idaho, the Deep South) and support the Orangutan In Chief anyhow. I mean, living in a place with crappy education, public works, etc. is a sight better than risking supporting Sanders, right?
"I'll tell you something," he said, as if he had said nothing that day. "You're walking on gallows ground, and there's a rope around your neck and a raven-bird on each shoulder waiting for your eyes, and the gallows tree has deep roots, for it stretches from heaven to hell, and our world is only the branch from which the rope is swinging."

I'd rather support Sanders or Warren than Tweeto von Cheeto. Hell, I voted for Hillary and I knew she was a terrible choice. But hell, she'd be better than the mess we have now.

Congress and the President have obligations. One of them is to fund the fucking government. They are failing to do that over a stupid, fucking wall.

Yeah, Congress should just bend over and take one for the country. Build the fucking wall so kirinke can afford her junk food this week.

Nope, not an obligation. They could just not fund anything discretionary -- hence the term 'discretionary'. An expectation, perhaps, but not an obligation.

Fuck you. I'm not the only one affected here. There's 800,000 more innocent people being affected. People with families that depend on them and their pay. We are being told to work without pay, then the fuckers add insult to injury by giving out a memo that basically says eat horseshit. Then the president fucking adds more insult to injury by saying we're all democrats anyway and don't matter at all (which isn't true by the way, many of my co-workers are republicans, independents or whatever) and he says we're proud to work without pay, which is fucking nonsense.

This is all because the President and Congress can't fucking compromise on a bill. Or even negotiate. Which means, okay, I want this, I am prepared to give you that for what I want and they go back and forth until they reach a point that they're both semi happy with.

Gah. Fucking assholes. That's Trump and Congress both btw.

At this point, I don't really care about the wall. I just want my pay and my fellow federal worker's pay not to be the hostage in this bullshit. My bills aren't as a big as some, but I do have them.

Thank god I don't have kids. It'd be that much worse.

I'm angry at both sides for not being adults and compromising/negotiating.

California is an entity unto itself. It's akin to the democratic version of the tea party.

Clinton and Warren are the two possible nominees that would force Trump on me for a second term. Sanders is maybe a third, but I think he has a small chance. Your party needs to get its act together and actually pick someone who can win.
