Close. Vegans don't eat or use animal products, which is why wool isn't vegan. I discovered the whole vegan products portion last year at the shoe store. While looking for shoes that fit me, I stumbled across a box labeled Vegan shoes. I was like WTF, are they edible? And then looked up what vegan shoes were.

Yes, 'consume' covers 'buy' and/or 'utilize'. Ain't no vegan buying a wool sweater, silk blouse, or leather jacket.

Dark the stars and dark the moon
Hush the night and the morning loon
Tell the horses and beat on your drum
Gone their master, gone their son.

Dark the oceans, dark the sky
Hush the whales and the ocean tide
Tell the salt marsh and beat on your drum
Gone their master, gone their son.

People really are silly, aren't they?
Madness does not always howl. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "Hey, is there room in your head for one more?"

I is before E except after C, then it's chaos man, mass chaos! Letters coming together into words, but then you go English and they put U's in places that just shouldn't go there... AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

My sanity left town along time ago and didn't leave a forwarding address. It's not missed.

Morality is all fiction. This is no sillier or better than not being morally ok with killing people, but being ok with exploiting people.
Signature too big and pornographic. Next offense will be a ban.

I wonder if anyone has explained to them the insect and small mammal slavery inherent in using any plant matter? Do they not know the plants use insect labor for sex without payment?

    You'd blow their minds.

    On first thought, have fun!

Or just how destructive plowing is to the life that lives in the fields. A lot of death goes into growing their vegan food.

Well, technically, insects usually get 'paid' for pollination in things like nectar or pollen. And things like corn, wheat and other grains are wind-pollinated.

Even worse, the fertilizer, pesticide and herbicide runoffs that not only kill wildlife, destroy rivers and contribute to ocean dead zones, but pose direct threat to human life. I'm trying to remember exactly which river(s) it is in the Midwest where they regularly have 'blue baby alerts' because the river water is full of nitrates and toxic to drink. Michael Pollan mentioned it in The Omnivore's Dilemma (a book everyone should read, if you happen to eat) when he was researching corn. Corn and soy are two of the most fertilizer/chemical heavy crops you can grow. So I guess vegans should, um, really appreciate and enjoy their supposedly cruelty-free tofu, or whatever.

I guess that's why the irony really galls when some vegetarian or vegan thinks that the animals I help birth, raise, slaughter, butcher, cook and eat all on my homestead are somehow worse for the environment and morally inferior compared to their goddamn tofu, or their cashews that are flown thousands of miles from where they were grown in recently-former rainforest territory.

Edit: my hay to feed my critters is extremely local; one of my hay guys lives just down the road (~5 mile trip; I was actually hauling hay today) from me, and the other lives over and behind a hill from me (~7 mile trip). While there is petroleum products, herbicides and fertilizer used in the making and harvesting of that hay, it's a damn sight smaller pollution-load for the environment than things like corn and soy.

Most vegans I've run into are pretty full of wind, from both ends. Maybe we can harness that.

It's still artificial and way worse for the environment than leather, which does biodegrade.

If they mind their own business, fine. When they start demanding the rest of us adapt to their beliefs is the moment they should be killed on sight. No trial, no jury. Just put to death.

Isn't that the goal of most political and religious groups?
