Thread: The Russian Trump Thread

  1. #91
Another Trump adviser touched by Russia. Smoke. https://www.axios.com/trumps-former-...343320131.html

"Carter Page, a former foreign policy adviser to the Trump campaign, met with a Russian spy in New York City in 2013 and passed him documents about the energy industry, BuzzFeed News reports.Victor Podobnyy, the spy, was under cover at Russia's UN office and was later charged, along with two others, with being in a spy ring. He referred to Page as "Male-1" in conversations with another spy and discussed efforts to recruit him, Buzzfeed reports:
[h="The revelation of Page's connection to Russian intelligence — which occurred more than three years before his association with Trump — is the most clearly documented contact to date between Russian intelligence and someone in Trump's orbit."]5[/h]Page, an energy consultant, confirmed to Buzzfeed that he was "Male-1". He has repeatedly said he did nothing wrong in his contacts with Russia. He was nixed by the Trump campaign after it emerged that federal investigators were looking into his ties with Russian officials."

That whole Russian link, it is basically US Carbon Barons wanting good relations with Russia's Carbon Barons. Oil is life.

Cue the Trumpites who make excuses and invent holes and basically do everything in their power to support Russia's efforts.
That's right, if someone disagrees with you, it's not just dissent, it's treason! Dissent = Treason, Silence = Dupe, and Agreement = Loyalty. That's just how it's done.

National Review is biased. They're also good reporters. They just ripped into Susan Rice, and it's a pretty damn solid piece. Her explanation doesn't hold water. This Russia thing looks like it may be about to backfire. What started as a distraction (the wiretapping issue) is turning out to be actually related to the Obama administration with potential sources for the leaks and political motives for unmasking. And this is stuff that probably would never have come to light if Trump hadn't made that stupid wiretapping tweet. Nobody was going to look at what Susan Rice and Evelyn Farkas had been doing concerning Trump until this came out.

I find it amusing that one article on Suzan Rice being evil by a Republican outlet is enough to convince Misty of Obama's evil, but all the articles from actual news outlets on Trump's connection with Russia only convince him of defending Trump.

Chomsky is too radical for those people who basically defend the status quo.

The Guardian has some interesting allegations about the Trump Russia link.

"One source suggested the official [American] investigation was making progress. “They now have specific concrete and corroborative evidence of collusion,” the source said. “This is between people in the Trump campaign and agents of [Russian] influence relating to the use of hacked material.”" https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/...m-links-russia
