Did you watch leaked episodes, or do you somehow get the new episodes before I do here (Sunday nights, 8:00 CST?)

I listened to leaked plot summaries for episodes 6 and 7, but haven't seen either.
    I watched the leaked episode.

Also, a couple months back, there was some info leaked by someone that had apparently seen scripts or plot arcs from the producers or something, and they had mentioned quite a few things, pretty much all of which have happened thus far.

and if that someone isn't you, give 'em what they deserve.

I got limited info. This is everything I was told about the two remaining espiodes:

    • Sansa sentences Littlefinger to death; Arya kills him
    • Jon’s parentage is confirmed (not just for the audience) by Sam and Bran
    • Zombie polar bear!
    • Dany loses a dragon north of the Wall; it’s resurrected by the Night King as a zombie ice dragon*
    • Dany dragonlifts the northern adventuring party out, but Jon is left behind; saved by Benjen Stark
    • The Wall is breached with the aid of said zombie dragon
    • Cersei apparently miscarries

*I think this will disappoint book readers. I gather ice dragons are a thing, but they're supposed to be much larger than fire-breathers, so to use one of the not-Drogons...

Since I obviously do not mind spoilers, I'll gladly take anything you have to add.

Well, fuck. I had hoped that that particular bit of leaked plot arc was going to turn out to be wrong.
I'm not going to be able to watch the official release for several days, so when a buddy handed me a DVD and said "watch this", I saw tomorrow's as well. Lot's of down time and yapping in this one, but when it gets going, it gets good. But yeah, the chains. Oh my. It took me out of the moment just like Jaime's long swim underwater, in armor, the week before.

My impression, based on pretty much nothing, was that Bronn likely did the underwater swimming and dragged Jamie along.

I can only presume Jamie has gills.

    Just like Beowulf!

I rolled my eyes at the Jaime rescue a bit, too, since an unencumbered person is going to have difficulty saving even a non-armored victim. There's a good reason you often get double fatalities in drowning incidents where the would-be rescuer ends up dead as well.

I did note that when Bronn did the flying-dismount-tackle, they were in relatively shallow water (not even hock deep), though the underwater scene showing Jaime sinking did make it look deeper.

The chains didn't trouble my suspension of disbelief much, except in the sense they just happened to have them for that purpose.

Right? Why would the army of the dead carry huge-ass long chains? Why would the army of the dead carry anything other than weapons, aside from whatever the people who died maybe were wearing? And iron/steel is pretty rare north of the Wall, it's a hugely valuable commodity. Those chains were worth at least 10 king's ransoms.

... No one else noticed how those chains didn't obey physics? I mean, even leaving aside where they came from, the 3 dead dudes on the ends were the only ones applying force to the dragon. Chains went straight from those dead dudes to the dragon, but then made a sharp turn and then curved up the mountain.. That's not how tension works. Little things like that can really take me out of the story, as I start solving physics problems rather than pay attention to narrative.

You can tell they ran out of GRRM material now. They just can't handle the logistics anymore, everything is "TV has no sense of scale." How fast can a dragon fucking fly? I'm fairly sure Westeros is bigger than Great Britain. I'm getting the feeling that GRRM is having issues putting out books because he's trying to stay reasonable on travel times and such. Ravens fly south and dragons fly north in.. what, 10 hours? Just so we can have draco ex machina.

Also felt Benjen was squandered, unless he magically survived under a Dumpster.

I'm finding this season very hit and miss.

And while we're at it, what happened to that blue eyed baby that the ice king screwed with? I know the mother had to swap him out with Edward Parker-Jones's (Ciarán Hinds) Mance Rayder kid or whatever, but that's a loose end for sure. I thought the ice king only turned dead creatures to his side.

And is that dragon now going to be like Rodan with an ice ray?

They're near the coast where they attacked that fortified town. I can't remember the name of it. But they overran it as everyone was escaping. It had ships that would've had large chains, although... still probably not that large given the time period we're talking.

That was what really bothered me. They'd walked inland for at least a day and a half didn't they? Even running, Gendry couldn't make that in less than a day. Then the ravens fly all the south to Dragonstone. Then Danny flies north, has to look around for them, I mean, even under the very best of circumstances, we're talking three days waiting on that rock.

Other than this last episode, I haven't had a problem with any of it and rather enjoyed it all.

[top]This Week’s Game of Thrones Featured Violence On Many Sides, On Many Sides

    http://www.slate.com/blogs/browbeat/...any_sides.html

We’re closely following the terrible events unfolding on a rock in the middle of a frozen lake near Eastwatch, where Jon Snow, several other less important but still basically good characters, and a bunch of nameless, soon-to-be-killed redshirts are surrounded by thousands of shambling, howling zombies led by the demonic Night King, whose horned head and piercing blue eyes spell death for nearly all who behold him. We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry, and violence on many sides. On many sides...
