Sitting here with a metallurgy expert who is busy taking custom chainmil and scalemail for next month's New Hampshire renaissance fair and he says that lukewarm has mach higher connotation.

    Thank goodness for experts!

Also, RingLord is the best/cheapest place I've found for bulk rings & scale, if you don't already go through them.

Never that I've seen. Are you looking for metal or plastic ones? As cheesy as it sounds, I can actually recommend the plastic ones (plasticlamellar.com) if you're a combat archer, but I wouldn't want heavies hitting me in it (I end up yelling "deadDeadDEAD!!" when less than arrow-clearance from charging heavies, lol). You can get them in various metallic colors, mine are coppery looking.

There was a guy from polar bear forge doing aluminum & steel lamellar plates in various shapes, kinda like the Wisby stuff, but I don't know if he's doing them any more. Could be worth it to check. I've also seen metal plates available from Etsy sellers, but that could be hit or miss.

How popular is the 6-string bass guitar as opposed to the typical(?) 4-string version?
I will have to consult one of my bass guitar player friends on this one and get back to you. But since we are on the subject I can entertain you with Orchid Blossom's favorite joke:

Deep in the African jungle, a safari was camped for the night. In the darkness, distant drums began a relentless throbbing that continued until dawn. The safari members were disturbed, but the guide reassured them: "Drums good. When drums stop, very bad." Every night the drumming continued, and every night the guide reiterated, "Drums good. When drums stop, VERY bad."

This continues for several days until one morning the drumming suddenly stops and all the natives panic and run screaming. The man asks the guide what's the matter? The guide looking very frightened says: "When drums stop, VERY, VERY bad," he said. "Why is it bad?" asked a member of the safari. "Because when drums stop, bass solo begins!"

Yeah, was watching a Capercaillie video and saw the dude (his name is...Evan? Ewan? Something.) playing a 6-string bass, so I was a little, "...whoa. "

I bet those drummers always keep speeding up, too.

Okay, here is the scoop. The overwhelming majority of bass guitars, 95%+ are the 4-string version. But, they do make 5-string, 6-string, 7-string, 8-string and 12-string models. The 6-strings that you referenced are primarily used for Latin, some Jazz, and studio recordings due to greater versatility of the other two octaves. That said, they are still mutants.

    Dear Silvermoon,

Why are hippies such inherent drama magnets/factories?

I think that I shall never see
    Such drama-monger as the hippie.

No, that is incorrect. Hint - it references a measure of time.

We have a winner! And since this is an advice column I give you Monty Python's "Vocational Guidance Counselor" sketch (with a guest appearance by The Larch!)

Is it legal for you to block your own driveway on a city street (with your own car)?

My girlfriend's housemate does this all the time. He drives for Uber and Lyft so presumably he wouldn't do this if he were going to get a ticket.

Probably, until someone has a demonstrable accessibility problem with it.

Technically no, you do not own the street, the town/city does, and their laws do not allow you to block driveways.

The police won't actually issue a tow or ticket unless the driveway owner calls to complain.
