To be perfectly honest, this is the reason why I haven't even considered buying anything for 5E beyond looking through the books in a store and deciding it wasn't for me.
Trump is just Putin's little bitch.

To be fair to Mearls.... the logo "D&D" emblazoned on the cover did more to turn me away than his name.

But now that I know his hand was on the wheel? Just more reason to steer clear of 5e if I can.

And to be clear; while I might not like Mearls when he's given free reign... he's no Skip Williams by any stretch of the imagination. That man should not be allowed near rules or rulings.
    I wouldn't even censor you.

I like 5e quite a bit. And Volo's guide has got a bunch of critters in it that I will use in my games, so I'm happy.

I found Iron Heroes for example had a fantastic concept... But it needed additional development time probably.

Mearls is a decent concept man... and even innovative. But he needs a firm hand reigning him in and trimming the excesses.

I had a player back in the 2e days who had a Bladesinger PC. Ridiculous AC, though I felt the overall fragility (very low HP) counter balanced it.

Anyway, we had a combat versus a bunch of bugbears, and he was so in shock when one of them actually hit him that he wasted his next turn disbelieving them.
